Zoe Birkett (born 16 June 1985, Consett, County Durham, England) is an English singer. At sixteen years old, Zoe became the winning female contestant of ITV’s Pop Idol (2002). Her video Get Happy went straight in at number one and she signed a management deal with Simon Fuller’s 19 Management. Zoe went on to perform to over 250,000 fans on two national arena tours and sang five hits on the Pop Idol Big Band album which reached number one in the album chart and went triple platinum all within a year. Training: Amanda McGlynn Vocal Academy, Lee Striezberg Method acting course, Lorraine Murray Dance School, Stagecoach Theatre Arts College and National Youth Music Theatre.
Theatre includes: Diva in Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical (West End), Principal Singer in What A Feeling (West End), Female Lead in Thriller Live (West End, International venues), Lead Female in Respect La Diva (West End), Dion in Hair (Munich, West End), Acid Queen in Tommy (West End), Maureen in Rent (Greenwich Theatre) and The Tina TurnerExperience (Holland) In 2015 Zoe played Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard musical(Uk tour) and was nominated for Best Alternate in the Westend frame awards and Broadway world awards, she then took over the role in 2016. Zoe wowed crowds as The wicked Queen in ‘Snow white and the seven dwarfs’at Darlington Hippodrome giving her a nomination as best female baddie in the Great British pantomime awards. She is currently playing Justice in the number 1 touring show ‘Rock of ages’
