In Indonesia, a district (Indonesian: distrik)[1] refers to third-level administrative subdivisions in Papua and West Papua. Districts are positioned below regencies (kabupaten) or cities (kota). A district is itself divided into administrative villages (kelurahan). In the rest of Indonesia, the equivalent subdivision is also called a kecamatan.
